Meeting in Inglesport Cafe in the centre of Ingleton (unless otherwise informed), stock up on breakfast, brews and equipment before we head out for the morning.

10:15-12:30 Navigation
You will gain an insight into the techniques required to understanding maps, covering Scales, Rights of Way, Grid References. How to use a compass – Map orientation, taking and walking a bearing. Understand the basics of following a bearing in poor visibility. Start to get to grips with contour recognition – Understanding the shape of the land. Basic route finding skills and route planning – Using natural features, hazard avoidance.
