Ingleton Three Counties Fell Race
Saturday 6th September 2025
About
A new fell race for September 2025 starting and finishing in the Yorkshire Dales Village of Ingleton, following a logical high-level route around the watershed of the two rivers which converge in Ingleton. In the process it starts in Yorkshire, visiting Lancashire’s highest point, then into Cumbria, and back into Yorkshire to return via some familiar landmarks.
It covers 31.5km/19.5 miles with 1580m/5184feet of climbing, and is registered with the Fell
Runners Association as an A-Long event.
Starting at Mealbank Hall (SD 694 734) you will run up the road a short way, before turning off and heading towards Kingsdale. Navigating some rough open fell terrain, the highest point in Lancashire, and first control at Gragareth then leads to some boggy fell-top running along the ridge towards Green Hill. From here, crossing the wall into Cumbria then leads to a tough climb to Whernside trigpoint. A wild descent down the front of Whernside leads to Ribblehead followed by some of the best high-level running in the Dales, heading to Ingleborough via Park Fell and Simon Fell, and returning to Ingleton.
