What experience will I need? – None, but being able to belay will help. The trips will involve top roping only. (If this is one of your first few experiences on real rock, you will find it quite a different experience to indoor climbing.) We will be setting up lines on various graded routes so there will be something to challenge everyone.
I am sure that Sophie, Gemma, Zoe, Gillian, Sam, Trysha and the others who came on previous trips would be happy to tell you more about their experiences. What equipment will I need? Your climbing kit if you have some- shoes/ harness/ belay device/ chalk bag/ helmet. (If you haven’t got any of this climbing equipment don’t worry but please let us know so Craig can bring some for you. If you don’t have shoes then please bring some other shoes to climb in.)
Please remember to bring: lots of warm and windproof clothes , even if it looks sunny it could be cold on the exposed crags. Suncream, midgie repellent, lots of water, lunch and snacks, sensible flat shoes/ trainers for the approach, waterproof jacket- it may rain, and a bag/ rucksack to easily carry it all in. We will be at the crag all day. Getting there: You will need to get yourselves to and from the location. People usually share lifts as this is more fun and is cheaper as you can share petrol costs. If you are planning on staying overnight on the trips we can let you know where we have camped in the past. There are always B & Bs nearby if you prefer.
For each trip you book onto we will let you know the meeting point, usually in a cafe. In general we will meet ready to depart at 10am and the day will finish around 4pm. (This may change dependent upon location). Payment: For each trip to run, we will need to have a minimum number of participants. As interest is high, to confirm your place on a trip we will require a non refundable deposit of £15 per person per day. The remainder of the payment will be due by 4 weeks before the trip date.
(NB: if 4 weeks prior to the trip date we do not have a minimum number of places booked then those already booked on will receive a full refund of monies paid for that trip and the trip will not run.)
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
