OGUG Taster climbing Session – 7th August 2019

The session for everyone, especially at the bargain price of £15 pp.

A fantastic half day of climbing on rock outdoors for our first timers today. The weather even played nice and a mostly sunny, no rain day was enjoyed. The westerly wind meant that Twistleton would have some shelter from it, so after a hearty breakfast and quality coffee in Inglesports café, we headed off. All eight of us. Simon, Alice, Atticus, Owen, Shiona, Ben Joash & Dad watching on. Mostly climbers in their teens, with the exception of one or two, we selected some fine routes to show off the dry limestones uniqueness.
Looking at various climbing techniques, gear and safety, Sam and I helped them achieve some amazing climbing, utilising tiny footholds and progressing their rock climbing skills.

We finished, slightly tired, but very content. Fingers and arms aching slightly more than expected, but we managed to squeeze in 6 climbs each into this half day session. Well done everyone.
We hope you enjoyed the Yorkshire Dales and the climbing fun too.
