The limestone that runs throughout the Yorkshire Dales, makes this part of the country unique. It gives us extensive cave systems and rock formations across the area, making it one of the major areas for caving in the UK. However if you fancy staying above ground then one of our guided walks and talks is for you.

Whether it be seeing close up the excellent examples of the surface limestone pavement with its “clints” (the limestone blocks) and “grikes” (the fissures between), the views from Ingleborough stretching as far as the west coast and the Lake District, and a fine view of the famous Ribblehead Viaduct on the Settle Carlisle railway line. Or a visit to Janet’s Foss waterfall, awesome Gordale Scar, quiet Malham Tarn and finally the towering limestone scar at Malham Cove and a chance to see the abundance of water birds to be found at the tarn, moorland birds to be spotted on the higher ground and then there is the chance of spotting Peregrine Falcons at Malham Cove.
