Yorkshire Climbing Weekend

What a wonderful weekend we had. Weather was due to be pants, rain, cold and gales but we got sunshine, white clouds and a bit of wind. Thank you Yorkshire. Stunning locations, great climbing, delicious food, and an excellent group of people.

The 3 days were all very different as was the climbing and the food! Friday night saw comedy being the order of the evening meal and a fitting start to a weekend of fun and excitement.

Saturday let us wake to glorious sunshine for an exhausting array of climbing on Twistleton Scar. Suncream, chalk and water were definitely needed here. We ended the day with 18 very happy people having a great meal at the Craven Arms in Settle. Perfect.

Sunday saw overnight and early morning rain but short dally in the very enjoyable Ye Old Naked Man Cafe  for a good breakfast allowed the weather to clear.

A short walk for a little look at Victoria Cave while we walked to the Legover Area of Attermire Scar and more great climbing was had by all.

Then straight to the Harts Head Hotel in Giggleswick for another great meal. We rounded the day off with a quick trip to Malham Cove and Goredale Scar to see what we mere mortals can aspire too!

Monday was a cloudy day starting in Inglesport Cafe and then a short trip to the sport crag at Giggleswick south to round off the weekend with some excellent climbing where routes were plentiful and most enjoyable even if some of us did venture into the holy bush!

Thank you to all who came on the weekend, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
